July Currently!

Wow- I have been out of school for 2 whole weeks already! It feels sooo good to sleep in, doesn't it? If you call 7:30 or 8am sleeping in--which I do, when you have a 6-yr-old (and a puppy)! (My 13-yr-old could sleep till noon, I think!)

I have some things started, like my first grade weekly plans for the whole year. I hope to have those done by the end of the week. I am also toying with the idea of creating my own planner. I'll let you know how that goes. I got a super-cute planner cover from Lindsey at A Year of Many Firsts from her Throwback Thursday post, and then personalized it. Thanks Lindsey!!

This is how I did my planner cover.....

AND-I got some cute stuff at Office Depot and TJ Maxx (re: school stuff, of course!) in the last couple days, so I will post pics of those soon, like hopefully tomorrow!

Happy almost-July 1st!
If you are interested in a planner, let me know what elements you would want in it....!

  1. I found your blog through Currently for July. I also teach first, but I do not loop. Often, I think about how cool that must be (or maybe not...if you have THAT class). I have 3 boys, and they also watch Avengers. Turbo Fire is something I've toyed with ordering. I am interested in it. With 3 little kids, I do most of my workouts at home. If you like to work out at home, check out Cathe. I've been doing her workouts for years, and she is awesome! I do like Chalene too, though (I have her TJ workouts). I do not have my head into school too much yet...the time is coming though. That's awesome that you have so much planning done already. That's my goal!

    1. Hi Jen,
Yes, Chalene is SO inspiring. I loved her TJ workouts, and Turbo Fire definitely takes it to the next level. It is way faster-paced. I kinda hated it at first, but now I love it! I will have to check out Cathe, too. Thanks for the tip!

  2. We found your blog through Farley's Currently and love your tip for Powerpoint! We mostly use Publisher and are just branching out into Power Point creations sometimes so the tip is much appreciated!

    1. Hi Katie and Lisen,
Thanks for stopping by! I am just getting used to PowerPoint myself. Go to Ladybug's Teacher Files-she has great tutorials. That's how I got started on PowerPoint and learned the magnifying glass tip! You two have a great blog! And congrats on your "little man"....your 3 little cuties are so adorable!

  3. I looping again this year, so I'm anxious to read about your experiences. You're lucky your pup lets you sleep so long, mine is always still on school time. But we take naps, so it all evens out! :)

  4. Hi,
Thanks for visiting! You have been blogging since 2009?! Wow! I'm so impressed! Loved your math ideas about number sense in your latest post. Yup--brand new loop in the fall. It will be my first "complete" loop, as last year I had a 2nd grade class that was a partial loop from the year before's blended class. You have a lot to offer in your blog. Looking forward to checking it out!
